Thank You, Teachers. You are Heroes.

Graphic written on school chalkboard reading "a Tribute to Teachers."

A heartfelt thank you to teachers, for the vital role you play in the lives of our children, so much of it unseen and unrecognized. For all that you do to cultivate compassion, integrity and grit in students. For the countless smiles, words of encouragement, and love you share each and every day.

Above and Beyond

My daughter’s elementary school has a beautiful tradition on the last day of school. At the end of the day, all of the teachers line the staircase as the outgoing fifth grade class descends the steps for the last time. A final farewell between students and teachers that have shared six meaningful years under the same roof. There are many tears, countless hugs, and a whole lot of love.

With Gratitude and Thanks

As I reflect on my daughter’s time in elementary school I’m filled with gratitude. I’m grateful for the teachers and staff that pour their hearts into their work. I’m grateful for the care and thought that is put into each and every day.  And I’m grateful for the ongoing efforts to make sure that every student feels as if they belong.

Without a doubt, each of the past six years was filled with growth for my daughter. Sometimes it was academic growth. Other times it was more social/emotional growth. Some days she learned how to get back up after a tough day.

And every year I grew as well, trusting more and more that things are unfolding as they should.

Thank You Teachers. You are Truly Heroes

To the teachers and staff that fill the halls of our schools….THANK YOU. Your work is so important to our families, to our communities, and to our world. You are truly heroes.
